Sabine Lake - Orange, TX
The current fishing on Sabine Lake remains productive as we transition through the spring season. Water temperatures are stabilizing, leading to increased activity across the marshes and open lake reefs.
Current Conditions and Hotspots We are seeing a consistent bite along the northern shell reefs and the deeper drops of the Port Arthur Ship Channel. The Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) has also been a reliable source for steady action during tidal movements.
Top Species Performance
Redfish: The marsh ponds and grassy flats are holding healthy numbers of reds. We have had success using both live bait and soft plastics on light tackle.
Speckled Trout: Schools are moving toward the middle of the lake. Anglers finding birds or slicks are reporting the best results for solid keepers.
Flounder: While the run is still a few months away, we are picking up decent numbers near the rocky points and jetty edges.
Techniques and Tips With the current water clarity, a natural presentation has been key. Work your lures slowly near the bottom during the outgoing tide for the most consistent strikes.
Whether you are looking for a family friendly fishing charter or a technical session for seasoned anglers, the bite is currently strong. Reach out to Sabine Lake Charters to secure your date while the spring patterns are holding steady.
